Parkinson's WF - Hibernian Community Foundation

Our Parkinson’s Walking Football partnership with Hibernian Community Foundation and Parkinsons UK kicked off today at World of Football - Corn Exchange, Edinburgh.

12 keen participants took to the field under the watchful eye of our Parkinson’s Educator, Drew Wilson and session delivered by Hibs coaches with the support of some willing volunteers, who were are extremely grateful.

Walking Football for people with Parkinson’s has proved to be a terrific way to manage symptoms as well as support player’s physical, mental and social wellbeing with one participant today saying: “I felt like deaths door this morning and then I came to walking football and I have had the best time!”

The session is on every Wednesday (11-12pm) at World of Football - Corn Exchange (10 New Market Rd, EH14 1RJ) with refreshments served thereafter and anyone with Parkinson’s who wishes to get involved should contact Niamh Westwood at niamhw@hiberniancf.org or 07450718702.
