2024 League Fixtures Announcement
/The 2024 League Fixtures have been released for the 15 leagues with 132 teams taking part in various age categories.
Over 50’s - last season’s champions Arbroath commence the season against previous winners St James at the RPC Dundee whereas it’s a change of venue for the West of Scotland League where last year’s champions Giffnock SC Auld Timers take on last year’s Scottish Cup winners, Pollok Utd.
Over 60’s - it’s a new tiered approach for this age category with Premiership and Championship divisions for both East and West of the country. In the East, last year’s winners, Hearts 98’ commence with a difficult encounter with Dundee East CSC and in the West, Glasgow Life take on Champions League winners, Ayr Utd.
Over 65’s - after the re-introduction of this particular age category last year, we have a new East and West split for 2024. Last year’s winners, Pollok Utd will open the season with a local derby against Drumchapel Utd - Blacks, whereas in the East there is another local derby and tasty opening day encounter where Alloa Athletic take on Stenhousemuir.
Over 70’s - due to high demand we also have a split of regional leagues in this age category with East of Scotland League taking place at Oriam NPC and West of Scotland League at Toryglen RFC. Last year’s winners, North Lanarkshire Council open the season with a match against Drumchapel Utd whereas in the East there is a Fife derby with Fife Wanderers taking on Dunfermline Dynamos.
Over 40’s & Over 50’s Women’s - with continual growth in the women’s game we have a tiered over 40’s league as well as additional Over 50’s age category for 2024. Linlithgow Rose - Whites who were crowned champions for the first time last year, will commence against Linlithgow Rose - Blacks in the Over 40’s and in the Over 50’s we kick off with Midlothian Ladies V Jeanfield Swifts, the two longest playing women’s teams in Scotland.
League fixtures have been sent out to club main contacts for the upcoming season and we look forward to what will no doubt be an exciting competitive season ahead, wishing all teams all the very best for 2024.
